On May 18, 2021, CCIS-EXPERTISE took part in the regular meeting of the Customs and Transport Committee on "New rules of maintenance of the register of Declarations of Conformity and presentation of the information contained therein" organized in Moscow by CCI France Russie in collaboration with the official representatives of RosAccreditation.
Published on January 29, 2021, the Order No. 877 of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation dated 30 December 2020 approves the amendments to the procedure for registration of Declarations of Conformity. This document came into force on February 8, 2021 and will be valid until January 1, 2027.
Under the new declaration rules, the indication of the GLN code (Global Location Number) will remain optional until July 1, 2021.
However, if the company has a GTIN code (Global Trade Item Number), it should be reported from now on without any transitional provisions.
It should be noted that the data on GLN and GTIN codes are stored in the official register within the public information system of RosAccreditation, which brings together all Declarations of Conformity for products manufactured outside the territory of the Eurasian Economic Union.
Although it is already possible to enter the GLN and GTIN codes in the electronic register of RosAccreditation, the absence of this information in the appropriate fields does not affect the registration of Declarations of Conformity.
As a reminder, the new rules for product declaration were adopted by Order № 478 of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation of July 31, 2020 and came into force on January 1, 2021.
According to the definition of the International Organization for Standardization GS1, the GLN code is a 13-digit number that acts as a key for identifying the location, whether physical or digital, and the function or entity of a company across the supply chain. The GTIN code is a unique and internationally recognized identifier for a product, which appears next to the barcode on the product's packaging.
